Bring a piece of fruit and add it to the traditional Día de los Muertos altar to honor a deceased loved one.
Tertulia in Spanish means a gathering, especially a gathering of people to enjoy art and culture, so in October, what could be more appropriate than to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) while the Tertulia exhibit still graces our walls?
October’s event will give members and their guests a second chance to see the current exhibit – Tertulia, highlighting the art of local and regional Latino artists. We’ll feature traditional Latino culture with a focus on Día de los Muertos. Artist and member Abelardo Montaño will tell us the story of Día de los Muertos and its importance in traditional Mexican culture. Bring a piece of fruit to honor a deceased loved one by placing it on the Día de los Muertos altar created especially for Ellarslie by Señor Montaño.
Third Thursdays are an opportunity for members and their guests to view the exhibits and network with other members in a lovely, relaxed, fun atmosphere. Join us!
Each month will offer something different, so mark your calendars now for Third Thursdays at Ellarslie.
To bring a guest, fill in one of the guest cards you have received with your membership and present at the door when you and your guest arrive.
⇒⇒Special Third Thursday membership deal – guests who join the Trenton Museum Society on October 20 receive a 10% discount on their membership.
