“If you start a collection of Trenton Potteries wares, you will collect significant parts of New Jersey’s rich ceramic history and this nation’s proud past.”

Trenton Potteries Company began in 1892 with the combination of Crescent, Delaware, Empire, Enterprise and Equitable potteries.  The TEPECO 5-pointed star logo was patented on November 4, 1902.  Artware production commenced in 1932, and in 1935 the ink-stamp logo of TEPECO was supplanted by the TAC ink stamp mark on the bottom of many vases.

During the second half of the1930, Trenton Art China designed strong Deco style shapes that rival the best Deco pottery in the world.

Most of the Trenton Potteries Company gift ware was a single color.  The most found colors are Gloss White, India Ivory, Persian Red, and Turquoise Blue.  These are all glossy (high glaze) finishes.  Less frequently found are matte (flat or semi-gloss) finishes.
