Marilyn Rose creates dynamic paintings which seem to paint themselves, emphasizing color-mixing, shape-making, and loose brushwork to create strong, vibrant watercolors. She will be demonstrating her fresh and loose approach to painting from still life.  As she paints, she will discuss how she uses observational skills to group element, see the bigger picture, and create a successful composition.

Marilyn Rose is an award winning watercolor artist and signature member of the Garden State Watercolor Society, New Jersey Watercolor Society, northeast Watercolor Society, and the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. She has won awards from all of these organizations as well as the Ridgewood Art Institute’s International Juried Exhibition and Paint. She is frequently juried into national plein air events and has been an artist in residence in Bryant Park in NYC.
