Six-week session for children in grades K – 4
Starts October 16, 2017.
Affordable classes at $30 for the six-week session with special rates for siblings.
Classes will be taught by professional artist and experienced teacher Alia Bensliman
Educational research has shown that an arts education can have a powerful influence on children in abstract areas such as creativity and critical thinking, in addition to building concrete skills like math and multicultural understanding. Art-making also aides in strengthening perseverance and building confidence. Through the arts children learn to make decisions, collaborate, take accountability, and express themselves in a way that benefits the greater community at large by increasing tolerance and empathy.
Over our six-week program students will create several of their own unique works through projects based upon the exhibits on display. Learning in the museum setting at Ellarslie enables children to feel inspired by the collection and to learn about the rich artistic history and current art community in Trenton. Students will get to work under the guidance of a professional artist in small classes which maximize individual attention. The course culminates with a showing of the works and students will also be invited to participate in our student show in February.
We can’t wait to have a great time getting creative with our students!
Registration limited to 12 students.
All materials and snacks are included in the registration fee.
