As the weather begins to chill, what could be better than an afternoon of hot soup and bread, live music and your favorite spirits while helping the programs of two deserving organizations? At the Empty Bowl fundraiser you select your own hand-crafted bowl from the two hundred created specifically for this event, fill it with your choice of nine tasty soups donated by nine local restaurants, try a second soup and maybe even a third, and, at the end of the day, take home a beautiful, one-of-a-kind bowl. Do good while feeling good.
Members of the art club at Mercer County Community College, as well as faculty and staff, have created and donated dozens of unique, soup-sized, hand-thrown pottery bowls to the event. In addition, one hundred of the bowls were created specifically for this event by Philadelphia internist Dr. Alan Magner, the result of a challenge from former Trenton Museum Society trustee, Dr. Michael Newman. Bowls are available to up to 200 ticket holders, on a first come, first served basis. Alternative bowls will be provided to those who just wish to taste the soups.
Hosted by the Trenton Museum Society and TC Nelson at Trenton Social, local restaurants are preparing delectable soups for patrons to taste. Participating restaurants include 1911 Smokehouse, La Cabaña, The Dapper Chef, Fame Dish, Ila Mae’s Restaurant, Revere Ristoranti, Studio B, Sumo Sushi, and, of course, Trenton Social.
Here’s your opportunity to enjoy a variety of delicious soups from area restaurants…and take home a handmade soup bowl…all while supporting important services in the city of Trenton.
