About Jerry Compere
Playing piano since age 3, Paul Jerry P. Compere, born in Haiti, attended the Saint Trinity Music Conservatory and gave his first recital at age 6 for an audience of 600. At 14 he won first place in the European International Piano Competition, competing against 384 other pianists. He served as a professor’s assistant to Richard Alston at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City for the Gifted Young and Undergrad Students Program. Jerry is an alumnus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, NJ, where he majored in music education with a principal study in piano performance/pedagogy. He has taught and conducted workshops around the world including Tulsa Community College, where he wrote the curriculum for their summer music program.
Paul Jerry P. Compere has graced the stage for over 25 years as concert pianist in many concert venues around the world, including a non-stop music festival in Ghana 2016 and as solo guest pianist for the Re-Inauguration of New Jersey Performing Arts Center. He founded the Jerry Compere Music Institute in New Jersey and recently partnered with New Beginnings church in Allentown, PA. A music teacher for over 25 year, he has served as the music director of several churches in Haiti, New Jersey, and Oklahoma, and operates the Jerry Compere Music institute. He also has accompanied artists such as Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Wayman Tisdale, and Genuine. Jerry isa Musical Director for Change Church in Ewing, NJ, and lead music teacher at the Christina Seix Academy in Trenton.
