As a Veteran’s Day salute to our veterans, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to American Legion Post #182, Mitchell A. Davis

Last fall’s Empty Bowl Fundraiser was such a success that our patrons have asked us to repeat the benefit. This year, in honor of our veterans on Veteran’s Day, we are donating a portion of our proceeds to American Legion Post #182.

What could be better on a crisp autumn day than an afternoon of eating delicious, home-made, hot soup, and lovely, crusty peasant bread from one of Trenton’s best old-style Italian bakeries, and sipping your favorite spirits while helping the programs of two deserving organizations. At the Empty Bowl fundraiser you select your own beautiful, artist-made bowl from the unique vessels created specifically for this event, and fill it with your choice of  tasty soups including some made by the great home cooks on the Trenton Museum Society board,  or a special soup from the Trenton Social. Try a second soup and maybe even a third, and, at the end of the day, take home a stunning, one-of-a-kind bowl. Do good while feeling good.

Members of the art club at Mercer County Community College, as well as faculty and staff, have created and donated dozens of unique, soup-sized, hand-thrown pottery bowls to the event. In addition, many of the bowls were created specifically for this event by Philadelphia internist Dr. Alan Magner, the result of a challenge from former Trenton Museum Society trustee, Dr. Michael Newman. Bowls are available to up to 120 ticket holders, on a first come, first served basis. Alternative bowls will be provided to those who just wish to taste the soups.

Hosted by the Trenton Museum Society and TC Nelson at Trenton Social, this fundraiser supports the programs at the Trenton City Museum and the American Legion Post #182, the Mitchell A. Davis post with an office at Trenton City Hall..

Ticket prices are $40 including an artist made bowl and $25 for an alternative container.

Here’s your opportunity to enjoy a variety of delicious home-made soups including vegan and vegetarian offerings…and take home a handmade soup bowl…all while supporting important services in the city of Trenton.
