Ties That Bind: The Aprons of Trenton
Do you have an apron from your Ukrainian grandmother that she brought from the old country when she emigrated to Trenton? Or one from your father or grandfather who worked at Home Rubber? Or perhaps you have a favorite apron that you always wore when you baked for your Trenton church’s bake sale.
Bring it to Ellarslie!
The Trenton City Museum is seeking vintage aprons that tell stories of the lives of the people of Trenton for an upcoming exhibit. Aprons are associated with homemakers, restaurant workers, industrial workers and others.
Bring the apron and associated memorabilia — a story, a payslip, a photo, a recipe and tell us a story about your experience with the person and activity involving the apron. Memorabilia may also be emailed to tms@ellarslie.org by October 5.
