Enjoy Brunch at the Trenton City Museum with Trenton’s legendary jazz artist, Barbara Trent.
The Trenton Museum Society is pleased to bring legendary jazz artist Barbara Trent back to Trenton for a special one-time -only midday fundraiser. Brunch will be served by Trenton Museum Society trustees in Ellarslie’s beautiful first floor galleries where the audience will be surrounded by art and song. This area favorite helps us to wind up the Trenton Then and Now exhibit with tunes from the past and the present.
Longtime residents will remember Barbara as a regular performer at Lanzi’s on Liberty Street in the ‘Burg. In its day, Lanzi’s was THE place to go for jazz and Barbara was one of its most popular artists. More recently she has performed at Trenton area venues like the Phoenix Lounge, Odette’s, Scanticon and the Blue Ram.
With her sisters Delores and Lillie, Barbara started singing at a young age in the Lambertville area, taught by her classically trained father. When college separated them, Barbara sang in nightclubs in her college town of Wilmington, Ohio and has been singing ever since. Music definitely runs in the family because today, Barbara’s two sons Scott and Guy are also musicians.
