Now that summer is turning to fall and we are spending more time indoors, do the walls in your house or apartment need refreshing?  How about buying a new piece of art to liven things up?

The Trustees of the Trenton Museum Society are putting on display a special exhibit of works by some of their favorite artists.  The works on display were especially selected by members of the board for their appeal to a wide range of artistic tastes and reasonable prices.  The show provides an excellent opportunity for seasoned and novice collectors to add to their collections and refresh their walls.

For this show only, we are turning Ellarslie into an art gallery.  Patrons will be able to purchase the works right off the walls from the moment they are hung on Saturday, September 5 until the end of the day on Saturday, September 12.  On September 12, starting at 6 pm, patrons who wait to purchase their favorite piece will have to take their chances at an auction.

The auction is being run by professional auctioneer and Ellarslie supporter, Patrick Ryan, Director of Gallery 353 in Princeton. Mr. Ryan is an experienced art collector, auctioneer and passionate historian.

Although the artists in the Trustees Invitational show and sale are being paid for their work, the show is a fundraiser for the museum so that it can continue to produce fine art exhibits of high quality for the benefit of area residents and visitors.
