The Trenton Museum Society Presents

Third Thursday logoFurniture as Art

Sneak Preview for members and their guests

Thursday, January 19, 2017

5:30 – 7:30 pm

Learn the secrets of master woodworker Geoffrey Noden whose pieces are included in the show.

Noden’s recent work takes the form of turned bowls and platters made from local woods and adorned with wood inlay cut by a process he has developed himself. Because these inlay pieces are so small, harvested materials may come from species which, before now, have been of little use in woodworking. Some new favorite woods are Viburnum, Autumn Olive, Chinese Bittersweet, and Forsythia – plants that only grow to shrub stature.

This is a chance for Museum Society members to preview the exhibit Furniture as Art, particularly Please Be Seated and On These Walls, the exhibits on the first floor.

Third Thursdays are an opportunity for members and their guests to view the exhibits and network with other members in a lovely, relaxed, fun atmosphere.  Join us!

Each month will offer something different, so mark your calendars now for Third Thursdays at Ellarslie.

To bring a guest, fill in one of the guest cards you have received with your membership and present at the door when you and your guest arrive.

⇒⇒Special Third Thursday membership deal – guests who join the Trenton Museum Society on January 19 receive a 10% discount on their membership.
