The Trenton Museum Society presents

Trenton Public School Biennial

Student Art Show 2016

Where: Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie in Cadwalader Park, Trenton, NJ – the entire first floor of the museum!!

When:   January 15 – February 28, 2016

Who: Open to all students of Trenton public and charter schools

What: Each Art teacher is invited to submit their best student works (no limit and we have room for some 3D works as well)

Works must be neatly or mounted (on poster board, railroad board, oaktag, etc) and ready to hang – must be presentable and represent your students’ best works. This will also be a reflection on you!

You do NOT have to matte or frame the works – mounted on a background paper or board is fine! Just keep in mind that we will be using double sided sticky appliques to adhere the works to the wall and your backing could get destroyed when removed from the wall.

  • Each work must have two labels – one on the back of the work and one to attach to the wall next to the work. (labels attached)
  • Each teacher will be given printed invitations to pass on to their students, parents, and administrators.
  • Each teacher must submit their students’ works at the Museum on January 5, 6, 7, from 11 AM – 5 PM (works dropped off during this time will be hung immediately to be viewed by attendees of Ellarslie’s large fundraiser – Cabaret!) and then Saturday the 9th from 11 AM – 3PM or Sunday the 10th from 1-4 PM then Tuesday the 12th 11Am – 5PM or final day Wednesday 13, 2016 from 3-5 PM at the museum. I will also be available to pick up at your school if you really can’t make it to the museum.
  • Some of you graciously offered to help hang the art and I am more than happy to accept the offers.  I will begin hanging the work January 5 and 6th from 11AM until completion.  There will be other museum board members working on the 7th and 8th to accept works as well as hanging them since I can’t be there for those 2 days.  The rest of the show will be hung the following week on Tuesday the 12th and Wednesday the 13th.

What Else: An opening reception will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4 – 6PM. PLEASE SAVE THE DATE – you won’t want to miss this!! There will be performances by the fabulous TCHS orchestra, dance and drama students!

A closing reception will be held on Sunday February 28, 2016 from 2-4 PM There will be a performance by the fabulous Dunn Middle School orchestra!

Student art work will be available for pick up at the end of the closing ceremony on the 28th or March 1 and 2, 2016 from 11-3PM and Saturdays March 5, 12, and 19, 2016 from 11 AM to 3 PM; also Sundays from 1-4PM through the month of March.
