Marge Chavooshian has received over 165 regional and national awards and is listed in Who’s Who in American Art. She was featured in American Artist Magazine and her paintings are included in “Best of Watercolor,” “Places in Watercolor,” “The Best of Sketching and Drawing,” and “Landscapes” by Rockport Publishers. Her work is represented in corporate and private collections here and abroad. Marge is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and The National Watercolor Society, among others.
Marge brings expertise and a great enthusiasm to teaching. The workshop will begin with a demonstration. Emphasis will be on value studies, composition, color mixing, and a simplified approach to perspective. Capturing the drama of sunlight and shadows will also be stressed.
Suggested materials to bring

Paper: 140lb cold pressed D’arches Watercolor Blocks 12” x 16” and/or 14” x 20” (or paper of your choice).

Tube paints: Winsor & Newton Lemon or Cadium Yellow (medium), Winsor Red, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Cerulean Blue, Winsor Blue (red shade) or Ultramarine Blue, Winsor Green (blue shade) or Hookers Green Dark, Winsor violet (Dioxazine), Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Vandyke Brown or Sepia, Payne’s Gray, Lamp Black (optional). Whatever colors or brands you are accustomed to using are fine as long as you have good basic reds, yellows and blues for mixing.

Brushes: ½” and 1” FLAT brushes, ROUND #2 and #8 brushes, or any brushes you are comfortable using.

Containers: two plastic containers with covers, 18 oz. peanut butter or jelly jars are a good size.

Miscellaneous: 2B art pencil, toothbrush, razor blade, sponge, tissue, miskit (optional), small easily portable folding stool, hat and palette Masonite boards will be provided for those who use single sheets of paper.
