Artifacts and memorabilia relating to NJM Insurance Group’s founding in the city
of Trenton in 1913 and growth over the following century will be located in a display
case on the second floor of the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie from July 11, 2015
through January 11, 2016.
NJM “adopted” this case, which permits the company to stage a display of its choosing for a six-month period.
“I would like to thank NJM for the company’s generous support of the museum, notonly for adopting a display case, but for contributing equipment to the Museum Society and supporting our individual events,” said Donna Carcaci Rhodes, Director of the Trenton Museum Society.
From its beginnings in a two-room office on East State Street in downtown Trenton, NJM expanded first into larger offices in a Victorian mansion at 175 West State Street, later constructing its own building at 363 West State Street.
Needing more space, NJM relocated in 1966 to its current headquarters, located on a 100-acre
campus on Sullivan Way in nearby Ewing Township. Today, NJM is New Jersey’s largest
property/casualty insurance provider and is one of the Greater Trenton area’s largest private employers.
