Joe Zook with James Cheadle on Piano

October 23, 2009
7:30 p.m.

Enjoy an evening of blues, jazz, R&B, gospel and rock and roll with Joe Zook and James Cheadle.

The duo will perform traditional, classic and jump blues, jazz, 1950s R&B, gospel and some "classic" rock originals.

Lead and slide guitarist Joe Zook and keyboard artist J.S. Cheadle are members of Blues Deluxe, winner of Warmdaddy's 1st Annual Young Innovators Search during the Crossroads Blues Festival in Philadephia in 2001. The band's debut CD, "Blues with a Capital B," continues to receive critical acclaim. Some material to be performed is from the "Blues Routes" CD Joe and James produced with Steve Guyger and which is getting steady airplay on XM's Radio's Bluesville with Bill Wax, Fridays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Fans can also hear selections from Blues Deluxe's other new release, "Payin' Dues," on the radio.

Joe Zook and Blues DeLuxe are members in good standing of the Bucks County Blues Society, PhillyBlues.com, and Diamond State Blues Society.

Currently on the faculty at B.C. Gregory Elementary, Joe has taught music to middle and elementary school children in the Trenton for 22 years. His original song "All I Can Hear Is the Blues" was nominated for a W.C. Handy award in 1988.

Former Sigma Sound studioman and Rowan University professor Cheadle owns a music production studio in Swedesboro, N.J. 9SouthProductions produces everything from commercials to bands. In the '70's his group Sahara recorded for Columbia and shared the stage with Chick Corea and Michael Urbaniak.
