The Dryden Ensemble Sunday, April 25, 2:00 p.m. |
||||||
Named in honor of John Dryden, the English poet laureate whose words inspired Purcell and Handel, the Dryden Ensemble specializes in performing music of the 17th and 18th centuries on period instruments. A line from Dryden’s Song to Saint Cecilia captures the essence of baroque music and our ensemble's philosophy: "What Passion cannot Musick raise and quell!" Don't miss this concert of Baroque music from France and Italy, including works by Marais, Couperin, Corelli, and Vivaldi performed by the Dryden Ensemble's Vita Wallace playing Baroque violin, Jane McKinley playing Baroque oboe, Lisa Terry playing viola da gamba, and Daniel Swenberg playing lute and theorbo. Light refreshments will be served. Reserve now!
